Permits by Email
This summer the Building Safety Division will begin processing . Permits by Email
Building Safety will begin allowing certain applications for building permits to be submitted via our new Permits by Email program. As a customer/contractor, you still have the option of submitting a permit application in person at the Building Safety front counter, but the convenient new Permits by Email program allows you to avoid a drive to the City and skip standing in line for certain permits.
Once a permit application is submitted, either by email or in person, the next step is an administrative review, which reviews the application for completeness. (Previously, all applications received an “at-the-counter” review for administrative accuracy; now, only homeowners are allowed to submit applications/plans for review at the counter.) The administrative review time for the permit application is 2 working days. If the application is not accepted the applicant will be notified via email with instructions on how to proceed.
