Redevelopment

The City of Goodyear is committed to redevelopment efforts aiming to improve the quality of life in aging areas of the city, addressing issues of reconstruction, enhancement, reuse and rehabilitation of existing facilities and sites within the adopted City of Goodyear Redevelopment Area and associated target areas such as the commercial district at the intersection of Litchfield Road and Western Avenue. Revitalization of aging commercial districts promotes the longevity and prosperity of the businesses in these areas as well as the enhancement of the social and moral welfare of the citizens residing in adjacent neighborhoods.

Assistance

A Facade Improvement Grant program was established in 2007 to assist commercial redevelopments in the Western Avenue target area. For information on this program or to obtain an application, call 623-932-3025.
