Community Funding – approximately $185,000 annually

WHO CAN APPLY? - Primarily meant for non-profits and other organizations supplying services to Goodyear residents that are not currently being provided by the City government.

WHEN ARE APPLICATIONS TAKEN? - Applications are opened in September each year with applications due in October so they can be included in the next fiscal year’s budget which is determined in January.

HOW ARE APPROVALS DETERMINED? A committee of three Councilmembers and three staff members go over the many applications and make recommendations for funding. These recommendations are taken to a Council Work Session to see if Council has any problems with the recommendations. Approvals are only final when the budget is adopted the following June. Goodyear’s fiscal year runs July 1 – June 30.

Event Sponsorships – for non-city produced events

WHO CAN APPLY? - Primarily meant for non-profits and other organizations that are producing major events, festivals or charitable fund-raisers within the City of Goodyear city limits. If not in Goodyear, event must be unique and highly attended by Goodyear residents. Funding will not be given to an event considered to be in competition with a City-produced event.

WHEN ARE APPLICATIONS TAKEN? - Applications are opened in September each year with applications due in October so they can be included in the next fiscal year’s budget which is determined in January.

Façade Improvement Grant Programs

WHO CAN APPLY? – Goodyear’s Façade Improvement Program provides matching grant funds to eligible business property owners within an approved redevelopment area for the purpose of upgrading the appearance of storefronts to stimulate revitalization in Goodyear’s oldest commercial area. The program was implemented in 2007 and is subject to available funding.

ELIGIBLE IMPROVEMENTS? Grants are available for exterior improvements to include awnings, windows, paint and landscaping.

REIMBURSEMENTS? Property owners are eligible to receive a reimbursement of up to 40% of eligible pre-approved improvement costs. The maximum amount for any individual grant award is $25,000 per individual property owner.
