Goodyear Recreational Complex
The Goodyear Recreational Complex was
built on a 100-acre site east of Estrella Parkway about a quarter-mile south
of the Goodyear Ballpark.
The Indians' portion of the
complex (top of diagram) was completed in August 2008 and has now been in use
for over one year.
The Red's complex (bottom of
diagram) was completed in October 2009, and immediately put is use by the
team gearing up for their 2010 Spring Training inaugural season in Goodyear.
Keep up with construction updates.
What teams control
The Goodyear Recreational Complex
includes a clubhouse for each team, which they will control year-round. The
teams will use the clubhouses all year to train players and help rehabilitate
players who are injured.
In addition to the clubhouses, the
teams will have control of pitching mounds, batting cages and tunnels and
observation towers. Each team will also control two half-practice fields, one
agility field and two of the full practice fields year round.
Each team will have exclusive use
of six full practice fields during Spring Training, approximately February
through March.
