Goodyear Police Arrest Suspect for Unlawfully Growing Marijuana
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – On October 9, 2013, the Goodyear Police Narcotics Team arrested the resident of a home located on the 17000 block of W. Desert Bloom Street in Goodyear. The Goodyear Narcotics Team worked together with APS to ultimately conduct a successful investigation at this residence. Additional information came from a Goodyear Patrol Officer who had taken a report at the home a few days prior and smelled Marijuana in the house. Contact was made by the Narcotics Unit at the residence of the suspect and as a result of this investigation, it was determined that Marijuana was being grown in the house.
A search warrant was served and 113 marijuana plants were located in the house. The plants have an estimated street value is $52,000.00 dollars. Approximately ¼ pound of marijuana and 1 gram of methamphetamines was located in the house along with an unknown amount of cash, all of which was submitted into evidence.
The suspect, 55 year old Kenneth Ruppel was arrested and booked on 5 felony drug charges. He is now being held without bond.
