Traffic restrictions on North Litchfield Road as pedestrian underpass nears completion
Detour at Indian School Road Friday and Saturday
Goodyear residents and motorists who travel on North Litchfield Road at Wigwam Boulevard will experience restrictions due to construction on the pedestrian underpass in Litchfield Park near Milennium High School.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced this week that workers will be paving the intersection as part of the final stages of the pedestrian underpass project from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, September 20, the existing asphalt in the intersection will be milled, which will require intermittent lane restrictions through the intersection during work hours, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Paving will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the paving Wigwam Boulevard will be closed at the intersection, while Litchfield Road will be narrowed to one lane in each direction. During the closure Wigwam Boulevard traffic can use Indian School Road as a detour.
