A Man’s Dog: Truly His Best Friend
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – At approx. 8:14 this morning, while on routine patrol, A Goodyear Officer came across a Green Ford Ranger Pickup truck that was registered out of Cottonwood, parked on the south end of the Cotton Lane Bridge.
The Officer checked the vehicle, which was registered and not reported stolen; however, decided to check the area closer. When the officer checked under the bridge, he discovered a man in his early 20s, face down in the dirt; he had not been visible from the road. The man was disoriented, possibly from dehydration (according to Fire) and from a possible fall. The man’s dog was at his side, unwilling to leave his master.
The man was transported to the hospital where it was discovered that he had broken his back in two places. It is believed that he either fell off the bridge or down the large hill to the south end near where his truck was parked. There is NO sign of foul play. More information will be released as it is available.
This man’s dog is truly his best friend, as he stayed by his side, unwilling to leave. The dog and the vehicle were turned over to family members who live in the Phoenix area.
