Goodyear Teen Police Academy Application Deadline - July 1
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (June 16, 2010) The Goodyear Police Department is accepting applications for its summer Teen Police Academy Training for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18. Class size is limited to 30. Deadline for applications is July 1, but late registration may be available if space permits.
The program, which provides an insider's look at the police academy, is geared toward teens who might have an interest in criminal justice. It is also a requirement to become a Goodyear Police Explorer. Training is provided by School Resource Officers with the Goodyear Police Department and includes working mock crime scenes and firearm training.
The two-week program begins July 12 and ends on July 23. Classes meet at Estrella Mountain Community College from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. most days, Monday through Friday. There is a cost of $45 to pay for a Police polo shirt and the graduation ceremony.
