Graffiti? There's an App for that

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (June 24, 2011)
With the new Graffiti App for iPhone and Droid, residents can begin the fight against graffiti as soon as they see it. Just snap a photo and sent immediately to the Goodyear Code Enforcement database, where it will be scheduled for removal.

Smart phone users can go to the App Store, search "myGoodyear" and download the free application. Once installed, just open the app, follow the prompts to take a picture of the graffiti, and tap "submit."

The app uses GPS, a built-in global positioning system technology, to attach a location to the picture and forward the complaint to Goodyear's Code Enforcement Division. Residents also have the option of receiving updates on the status of their report.

Even without a smart phone, residents have two other graffiti reporting options:

·         Online - Go to www.goodyearaz.gov and click the "Ask/Find/Do" button, "Submit a Request" and select "Graffiti" to report the problem.

·         Hotline Phone - Call Goodyear's Code Compliance Hotline at 623-882-7815.

Graffiti violations that are in progress can be reported immediately to the G
oodyear Police Department at 623-932-1220. An officer may be sent to the location or a report may be taken by phone. Reports like this are important in documenting, tracking and eliminating graffiti in the community.
