Goodyear’s 2005 Water Quality Report Available Online - REVISED

(GOODYEAR, AZ) Goodyear residents can view a copy of the 2005 Water Quality Report on the City’s website – -- regarding the quality of the water produced by the City of Goodyear Water Resources Department.  The report details the stringent testing the City’s water goes through to assure its quality, safety and compliance with all state and federal regulations.

The report will be received in the mail the week of June 26th by City of Goodyear water customers, all of whom live south of I-10.  Goodyear residents north of I-10 are serviced by LPSCO and will receive a copy of LPSCO’s 2005 Water Quality Report.

“Goodyear’s Water Resources Department continually strives to produce the highest quality water that meets every safety standard for our citizens,” stated Shawn Bradford, Water Resources Director.  “The City Council is very supportive of our efforts to deliver quality water and to expand our production capacities.” Over the next five years, $271 million worth of capital projects are planned for the Water Resources Department to allow Goodyear to more than keep up with its projected population growth. In the coming year alone, the City will spend $117 million on water resource projects.

According to Linda Shapcott, Water Resources Environmental Compliance Supervisor, Goodyear met every state and federal water quality standard throughout the year, experiencing no violations.  Information on the quality of LPSCO’s water is also contained in the 2005 Goodyear Water Quality Report because LPSCO provides water to Goodyear on a periodic basis.
