Oct. 17th Open House Highlights Road Improvements for McDowell Rd.

(GOODYEAR, AZ) You are invited to an Open House at the Hampton Inn, 2000 N. Litchfield Rd., on Tuesday, Oct. 17th to learn more about Phase I of Goodyear’s McDowell Road Commercial Corridor Road Improvements Project -- the beginning step in the vision to create one of the most vibrant retail corridors in the Valley. The Open House begins at 6:30 pm with a presentation at 7 pm and Questions & Answers from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.

Come see and hear about the changes and community enhancements that are planned along the McDowell Road Commercial Corridor over the next two & one-half years. In addition, this project will be coordinated with other improvements in the area, such as the I-10 Bullard Avenue Interchange, potential park improvements in this portion of the Bullard Wash and the McDowell Road improvements currently being completed.

At this meeting, you will get an overview of the complete project and additional specifics about infrastructure improvements planned for Phase I:  McDowell Road from PebbleCreek Parkway to the future Bullard Wash channel and PebbleCreek Parkway from I-10 to McDowell Road.

Phase I is scheduled to start in November 2006. As with any major road construction project, there will be inconveniences to the traveling public. However, with your input and feedback we will strive to minimize these disruptions.

There will be lots of time at the meeting for Questions and Answers and an explanation of how this growth project will pay for itself through bonding and developer assessments.

The City of Goodyear along with the developers (Westcor, W. M. Grace Development Company, Evergreen Development Company, Globe Properties and Tang Realty) and other partners (Arizona Department of Transportation, Flood Control District of Maricopa County and the Roosevelt Irrigation District) have been hard at work planning & designing this huge project over the past 18 months.

For more information, you can call Goodyear’s Community Advocate Linda Dillard at 623-882-7800 or Peter Hemingway of Wood, Patel & Associates at 602-335-8500. You can also visit: or
