10-year-old Girl to be Honored for
Saving Mother's Life with 911 Call
(Goodyear, AZ) On January 4th, 2007 just after 700am, 10-year-old Kaitlyn Gorman went to check on her mother in the backyard only to find her unconscious in the family pool. Kaitlyn alerted her father and then called 911 just as she was taught in school through the Urban Survival Program. Kaitlyn also relayed CPR instructions from the fire department dispatcher to her father during his efforts to revive his wife Nicole. Kaitlyn's mother is now back at home with her family with no adverse affects from her near-drowning experience.
Please join the Goodyear Fire Department, Palm Valley Elementary School, Kaitlyn's family, and friends to celebrate this positive outcome. Kaitlyn will be receiving the Goodyear Fire Department's Life Saving Award for her actions in the saving of her mother's life. A representative from Wal-Mart will also be on hand to present Kaitlyn with a new bicycle and helmet.
