OWNERSHIP CONSORTIUM ANNOUNCES PLANS

FOR NEW MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT

 

New 1,216-Acre Plan to Include Mid-Rise Office Buildings,

Diverse Mix of Retail, Commercial, Residential and Industrial Buildings

 

 

GOODYEAR – Goodyear officials and representatives of a consortium of land owners, developers and investors today announced a new 1,216-acre mixed-use project currently referred to as CrossPointe.  The project will serve as a high-profile employment center and important link to key destinations within Goodyear and throughout the West Valley. Total construction cost of the multi-phased project could exceed $4 billion, city officials and members of the development and investor consortium said.

 

Located just south of Interstate 10, Goodyear anticipates that CrossPointe will serve as a significant employment center and key transportation link connecting Goodyear’s central planning area, and providing significant regional opportunities for the entire West Valley.  It will stretch south to Lower Buckeye Rd., straddle both sides of Bullard Ave. and be adjacent to the Phoenix Goodyear Airport.

 

The announcement comes on the heels of several major announcements concerning the city’s future long-term growth and economic plans, including the construction of a new spring training complex for the Cleveland Indians, the planned groundbreaking later this year for Estrella Falls, a one-million-square-foot outdoor mall that will serve as the focal point of a new 300-acre lifestyle center, and the opening of two new private college campuses.

  

The conceptual masterplan, which incorporates a variety of retail, commercial, multi-family and loft residential, flex-office, and industrial uses is a collaborative effort between five firms including Cornwell Corporation, Sun MP, Claremont Capital, Kohnen Investments and EJM Development, with their chosen planning firm, SWA Group.

 

Initial construction on the project has already been initiated with the construction of the Venida Business Park at CrossPointe by Cornwell Corporation. The five-building office complex, located on the south side of Van Buren Rd. between Bullard Ave. and Litchfield Rd., incorporates almost 88,000 square feet of flex office space.

 

Goodyear Mayor James Cavanaugh said the CrossPointe masterplan “creates an opportunity to develop a world-class employment center that will be attractive to a knowledge-based workforce and next generation employers, providing our city with wide-spread economic benefits and a sustainable future.”
