Emergency Response Training Available for Goodyear Residents



(GOODYEAR, AZ) - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training teaches skills that people can use to safely help their neighbors during a disaster while waiting for emergency responders such as Police and Fire. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations. Through training, citizens can manage utilities and put out small fires; search for and rescue victims safely; and organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers to be effective. They will also be trained in life saving skills with emphasis on decision making, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number.


The City is offering citizens 10 weeks of CERT training FREE every Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at City Hall, 190 N. Litchfield Rd. beginning Sept. 11, 2007. To sign up, please call 623-882-7800 or e-mail Deadline for signing up is Friday, Sept. 7 by 5 p.m.
