Holiday Fill-a-Need Program
GOODYEAR, AZ – Hard times can touch anyone. Families can experience difficulties due to circumstances beyond their control such as illness, a death in the family or losing a job.
Goodyear employees want to be sure these families receive gifts during the holidays. The city would like to know about Southwest Valley families in such situations. Please call 623-882-7081 or send an email to email@example.com to nominate a family. Be sure to include the name, e-mail address and phone number of the family.
All applications for help must be received by Nov. 5. Families qualifying after being interviewed will then be contacted by a team of city employees who will make the final selection for the Fill-a-Need Program. Each family member and their holiday list will be shown anonymously on an electronic “Holiday Tree” from which city employees can select gifts to give. Citizens and organizations in the community are invited to participate along with Goodyear employees by donating new toys in their original packaging.
Cash donations are also welcome and are used to buy gifts for family members whose needs are not filled by Goodyear’s employees. Public donations are gladly accepted at the lobby counter on the first floor of Goodyear City Hall, 190 N. Litchfield Rd.
City employees wrap all Fill-a-Need gifts and personally deliver them to each family just before Christmas. As many as 30 families per year can be helped by this program. For more information, please call 623-882-7081.
