Goodyear’s budget earns top North American award
GOODYEAR, AZ – The city of Goodyear has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This is the tenth consecutive year Goodyear has received this award.
Goodyear’s Finance Department was recognized for having pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and serving as an excellent example among governments throughout North America.
A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation has also been presented to Goodyear Budget and Research Manager Joe Pizzillo and Budget Analyst Barb Huttinger.
The award recognizes a commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting, and was presented to 1,127 entities for fiscal period 2006 budgets.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving 17,500 government finance professionals in North America. The GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
