Litchfield, Estrella/Pebblecreek to close at I-10 underpasses
GOODYEAR, AZ – Widening Interstate 10 will bring much-needed relief for travelers driving through Goodyear and neighboring cities, but there will also be some temporary inconveniences while the work is in progress.
Bridge construction work on the I-10 is about to begin in the area of two major thoroughfares in Goodyear.
Estrella Parkway (to the south of I-10)/Pebblecreek Parkway (to the north of I-10) will be completely closed at the I-10 underpass Monday through Friday, beginning April 15. At least on lane in each direction will be open to traffic on the weekends. The closures are expected to last for approximately three or four weeks.
Litchfield Road will close at the I-10 underpass on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning April 30. The closure here could last for up to four weeks. Goodyear city staff members are working closely with ADOT and the contractor to allow one lane of traffic in each direction on Litchfield under I-10 during times that are safe for traffic to travel there.
The on and off ramps to and from I-10 at Estrella Parkway/Pebblecreek Parkway and Litchfield Road will remain open during most of the construction work, although traffic may be restricted as needed.
For a complete listing of freeway and highway closures or restrictions across Arizona, visit ADOT’s Travel Information site at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1. Or visit www.azdot.gov/ValleyFreeways for more information.
