NEWS RELEASE

City of Goodyear, Arizona

Public Information Office

For Immediate Release: May 16, 2008

Join Goodyear’s 2008 G.A.I.N. Committee,

meet your neighbors and help shape your community

GOODYEAR, AZHelp Goodyear get a head start planning the City’s Fifth Annual G.A.I.N. Event, slated for Saturday, October 18. Call now and join our planning committee. City staff help facilitate the event, but the real planning and creative work is done by Goodyear residents.

G.A.I.N., Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods, is a statewide program promoting public safety awareness. Last year, more than a dozen Goodyear neighborhoods were represented at G.A.I.N., which was held at the Goodyear Community Park for the first time, rather than in each individual neighborhood. This year’s event will be at the park again, and the City will establish villages to make it easier for residents to find and meet their neighbors at the event.

Goodyear is a community of neighborhoods. Make sure your neighborhood is represented. This is your opportunity to help your community by volunteering for the 2008 G.A.I.N. Event.

For more information or to volunteer for the 2008 G.A.I.N. Committee, call Goodyear Neighborhood Services at 623-882-7812.

To have your neighborhood participate in a G.A.I.N. event, go to www.goodyearaz.gov, click on “Forms and Applications,” and complete the Neighborhood Registration Form and the G.A.I.N. Registration Form.

Mail or deliver forms to Neighborhood Services, City of Goodyear, 190 N. Litchfield Road, P.O. Box 5100, Goodyear, AZ 85338 or FAX to 623-882-7811.
