Goodyear Baseball Complex construction update



At the Ballpark, the cast-in-place concrete walls at the batter’s eye were poured and the walls are being waterproofed. The concrete slabs and waterproofing were installed at both dugouts. Footings were poured. The left field wall was waterproofed and backfilled. The bullpen players’ bathroom masonry and concrete walls are complete. Masonry walls and underground plumbing are being installed at the service clubhouse level. Cast-in-place concrete walls were poured complete at the right field building and home plate stair tower. Installation of underground plumbing and electrical is 80 percent complete for the concourse buildings and the lift station is being backfilled. Concrete slabs at the first base bathrooms, commissary kitchen, and concession stand are being installed.



Development Complex

At the Clubhouse, steel stairs are being installed and steel erection is complete. Work on the interior masonry walls and drywall installation is progressing. Wood trusses have been installed in the weight room ceiling, and four plunge pools in the hydrotherapy room are finished. Wall insulation is underway, and window frames are in on the south and west sides of the building. The first floor’s roof structure is done, and foam roofing has been applied.


Work on the fields is progressing. On Major League Playing Fields #1 and #2, Minor league Practice Fields #3 and #6, Agility Field #7 and Half Practice Fields #8 and #9, the sand was fine-graded to prepare for sprigging (similar to seeding) which began in mid-May. On Minor League Practice Fields #4 and #5, the sand base installation is nearly complete.


Masonry installation and steel erection for the Observation Tower are complete. The Batting Tunnel’s concrete slab was poured and the metal building shell was erected.

The metal Maintenance Building has been erected and installation of masonry walls is complete.


The site’s perimeter masonry walls at the maintenance building were installed. Concrete curbs were poured at the parking lots and the first lift of pavement is complete. Sidewalks were installed at the observation tower and major league practice fields. The lake liner was installed and water began filling the lake in May. Bullard Wash grading is done.
