Goodyear water users needed for committee
on setting utility rates and fees
GOODYEAR, AZ – The city of Goodyear is looking for citizens interested in serving on an ad hoc committee that will provide citizens and stakeholders with an opportunity to speak out and offer input about the city’s water and wastewater financial planning and rate-setting process.
Six to eight individuals will be appointed to the committee. These committee members will represent the community in this cooperative process. All members must be residential or commercial customers of Goodyear’s water/sewer utility service, and must reside or do business south of Interstate 10 in Goodyear.
The committee will meet in the evenings, three to four times during July and August. During the meetings, members will review the existing revenue structure and utility financing methodologies, and discuss various rate and fee structures to address revenue deficiencies. The committee will then formulate recommendations to be presented to the Goodyear City Council on water, sewer and reuse fee increases and the reasons for these increases.
Residents and business owners located in Goodyear, south of I-10, are invited to apply for the committee on Goodyear’s website: www.goodyearaz.gov. Click on Boards, Commission & Ad Hoc Committees on the homepage. Then click the line to apply, fill out the form and submit it online.
Applications are due by June 13.
