Historic Goodyear street sign toppers to be unveiled Monday, July 14
GOODYEAR, AZ – Historic Goodyear street sign toppers will be unveiled at 8 a.m., Monday, July 14, at the corner of Las Verdes Drive and La Pasada Boulevard, across the street from Loma Linda Park.
The new street sign toppers will distinguish the Historic Goodyear neighborhood. The vintage-style artwork features a black-and-white image of an old-time blimp, a symbolic nod to the community’s contributions to the local agricultural and transportation activities of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company during a bygone era.
Logan Simpson Design, Inc., a top landscape architecture firms in the Southwest, created the Historic Goodyear street sign toppers. Residents of Historic Goodyear had an opportunity to choose from three designs, all reflective of the community’s past, and the dirigible design carried the day.
Goodyear Mayor James Cavanaugh and councilmembers, members of the Arts and Culture Commission and residents of Historic Goodyear have been invited to the event.
