Fireworks show rescheduled for

Howling Halloween Bash

GOODYEAR, AZ – The city of Goodyear’s July 4th fireworks show has been rescheduled for 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25 at Goodyear Community Park, 3151 N. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear. The 25-minute fireworks show will be presented during Goodyear’s annual Howling Halloween Bash. Gates open for the event at 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Free parking and shuttles will be available at Estrella Community College, at Thomas and Dysart roads. Limited handicapped parking will be available at the park.

The Star Spangled 4th fireworks show was originally scheduled for Friday, July 4. The show was postponed because high winds and monsoon activity created serious safety issues.

More than 9,000 people turned out for the 2008 Star Spangled 4th event last week in Goodyear, and were disappointed when inclement weather forced organizers to call off the much-anticipated pyrotechnic display.

“Safety is always our top concern,” said Mark Kimball, Goodyear’s special events coordinator. “Everyone was disappointed when the fireworks had to be cancelled, but we’re looking forward to presenting a terrific show during the Howling Halloween Bash. And the weather should be great.”
