Goodyear hosts seminars to improve citizens’ financial knowledge

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – (Sept. 29, 2008) – The city of Goodyear is partnering with Credit Union West, a not-for-profit financial resource in the West Valley, offering four classes to help families take control of their household budgets and their future financial success.

Beginning Oct. 15, Credit Union West and the City of Goodyear will present classes every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Goodyear City Hall, 190 N. Litchfield Rd., Room 185. Each one-hour class will be followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer period. Seating is limited, so register soon. Information packets will be distributed during each class.

The program series is designed to help citizens deal with economic situations during these uncertain times. Mayor Jim Cavanaugh has joined mayors across the country in a national effort to provide free financial education to help individuals become more financially stable. With improved basic personal income money management and planning skills, Goodyear’s residents will be in a better position to own homes, raise healthy families, educate their children and invest in small businesses.
