Goodyear hosts artists’ reception for
Art in Civic Spaces Exhibition
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (Oct. 28, 2008) – The “Art in Civic Spaces” program celebrates its inaugural exhibition with a reception from 4:30 to 6 pm, Friday, November 21 at Goodyear City Hall. The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be served.
The featured artists are Mary Neubauer, Shirley Wagner, Sue Hunter and Elayna Flodin. Visitors and guests attending the reception will have access to areas throughout City Hall where the artists’ work is on display. The artists will be present and available to answer questions about their work.
The featured artwork was juried by a panel of community representatives and City staff and will be on display through early January. Works by other artists will go on display in a subsequent exhibit.
The Art in Civic Spaces program was established to inspire dialogue about art and the world in which live, provide opportunities for artists to exhibit work in a public venue, and increase awareness of the visual arts in Goodyear.
It is sponsored by the Arts and Culture Division of the Community Services Department.
Artists, especially those with ties to the West Valley, can be added to the roster and have their work considered for future exhibitions by contacting Dianne Cripe at (623) 882-7809 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
