The Home Preservation Forum offers options for avoiding foreclosure
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (Jan. 9, 2009) – If you or someone you know is facing foreclosure, now is the time to learn about financial options that may be available.
Plan to attend the Home Preservation Forum at 6 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 4. The forum will be held in Goodyear’s new City Council Chambers at 185 N. 145th Ave., on the south side of Van Buren Street between Bullard Avenue and Litchfield Road. No registration is required.
The event is free and open to the public. The forum will feature information for homeowners, HOA representatives, property managers and community leaders in Goodyear to help troubled homeowners understand how to preserve their homes and neighborhoods.
During the forum, attendees will have their questions answered by experts in the industry who are participating in the panel discussion. Panelists include experts from HUD/FHA, Credit Counseling Services and Real Estate Task Force. Questions can be submitted before the forum online at www.goodyearaz.gov/seminars. For examples of frequently asked questions, please visit the City’s website at www.goodyearaz.gov/seminars.
Immediately following the forum, homeowners can schedule a free confidential appointment via telephone with a HUD-certified counselor. A worksheet will be provided at the forum, which must be completed before the telephone appointment. Each worksheet is individually coded to keep the identities of applicants anonymous. The counseling session and all information on the worksheet are completely confidential.
Homeowners who are unable to attend the forum in person may request a free confidential appointment with a HUD-certified counselor. Worksheets must be filled out in advance, and are available to be picked up at three locations:
