Indians vs. Giants, Diamondbacks, Padres


, ARIZ. (Feb. 23, 2009) – The Cleveland Indians host the San Francisco Giants at Goodyear Ballpark in its inaugural Cactus League spring training game on Wednesday, February 25.

Ballpark gates open at 11:30 a.m. Pre-game activities begin at 12:40 p.m., and include a flyover featuring F-16s from Luke Air Force Base, a ceremonial first pitch by Hall-of-Fame Indians’ pitcher Bob Feller, introductions of Goodyear Mayor James Cavanaugh, council members and other officials. Game starts promptly at 1:05 p.m.

Wednesday marks the first spring training game played by the Indians in their new state-of-the-art ballpark in Goodyear. The facility seats more than 10,000 fans and cost $108 million to build.

Prior to the pre-game activities, Goodyear Ballpark offers plenty of free fun in the Kids Zone, featuring Wiffleball, hitting and pitching for youngsters and the young at heart.

Also at Goodyear, the Indians play the Diamondbacks on Thursday, Feb. 26 and the Padres on Friday, Feb. 27. Game times: 1:05 p.m. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. For complete schedule information, visit

Spring training game tickets cost $8 to $35.

Parking is $5 per auto, $10 for RVs.
