Catch a sneak peak of the new Goodyear Library this week
Don’t miss the March 28 Grand Opening
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (March 19, 2009) – The Goodyear Branch Library is now open, and eager to introduce local residents to its services and offerings. Library hours are:
- Monday – Wednesday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Thursday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The library had a “soft” opening on March 9, and the staff is preparing for the official Grand Opening Celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. Until then, the public is invited to stop in and check out the many services and reading programs that are being offered.
“We want the residents to consider the Goodyear Branch Library one of the most welcoming facilities they have ever visited,” said Fran Wendtland, branch manager of Goodyear’s new library, which is also run by the Maricopa Library District.
Library services and features include a summer reading program, story times, computers for online research, along with a great assortment of books, DVDs and CDs. About 6,000 items are housed at this branch, including DVDs for all ages, music CD’s labeled by music type, easy-to-read picture books for children, big-print books for seniors, and the latest bestsellers. There is a sampling of books, CDs, DVDs and other materials available to be ordered online 24/7 from the Maricopa County Library District’s catalog. Online orders can be delivered to the Goodyear Branch Library for pickup, free of charge. There is also a drop box outside the library for returns.
FREE library cards will be issued at the Goodyear Branch Library. To sign up, bring a photo ID and proof that you live in Maricopa County. Children under 18 must have a guardian present to register.
The Goodyear Branch Library is located on the first floor inside 250 N. Litchfield Road, Goodyear. Enter through the south side door near the plaza/ramada between Buildings 250 and 190.
