Test to become a Census worker
Earn $11 to $16 hourly
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (March 31, 2009) – The U.S. Census Bureau continues to prepare for the 2010 Census and is looking to hire thousands of census workers. Field positions in Maricopa County range from clerks to field operations supervisors. Workers can earn $11.25 to $16.50 per hour, depending on the position.
Applicants must register in advance and pass a test to qualify to work for the Census Bureau.
Testing takes place at Goodyear City Hall, 190 N. Litchfield Road, Room 117, on
9 a.m. on the following days:
· Thursday, April 9 -- CANCELLED
· Wednesday, April 15
· Thursday, April 23
The test takes about 30 minutes to complete, and includes 28 multiple-choice questions. Applicants should allow 90 minutes to complete the application process and fill out required forms. The entire process takes about two hours.

As census jobs open, qualified people will be called from hiring lists which are printed in test-score order.
