Goodyear introduces smoke-free
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (June 29, 2009) All parks in the city
of Goodyear will become smoke-free environments beginning July 1.
By making parks
smoke-free, the city will provide people of all ages with healthier, more
pleasant environments for recreation and relaxation. The city also expects to
see a reduction in litter once cigarette and tobacco use is no longer
permitted. This, in turn, is likely to result in a small cost savings, since
clean up and sanitation services will also be reduced.
Designated areas for smokers will be offered in parking lot areas.
The smoke-free policy has proved very successful at the Goodyear
Ballpark, where the non-smoking policy has been in effect since the facility
opened earlier this year.
