Goodyear teams with Phoenix Children's Hospital for Drowning Impact Awareness Month

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (July 30, 2009) The Goodyear Fire Department is teaming up with Phoenix Children's Hospital to promote Drowning Impact Awareness Month 2009 throughout August with a special CPR class and the Purple Ribbon Campaign.

August is typically one of the worst months for water safety ? especially when it comes to child drownings. Last year in Maricopa County, 16 children drowned. Help prevent another season of tragedy. Earn or renew your CPR certification and pick up a free purple ribbon to wear as a reminder that children must be watched constantly when they are around water.

Sign up now for the American Heart Association CPR and AED class, open to the public.
