Fire Pal donations needed for new program

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (Oct. 27, 2010) The Fire Pal program is just getting started, and Goodyear Fire Pal Dave Acero is leading the effort to collect new and gently-used stuffed animals, toys and clothing for preschool through fifth grade students in Goodyear.

Fire Pal Dave Acero has seen how rough the effects this economy have been on our youngsters. With chilly mornings and cool afternoons, socks and jackets are among the most-needed items for youngsters between 4 and 10 years old. New and gently-used toys will find their way into grateful little hands.

The Fire Pal program is not affiliated with the City of Goodyear's annual Fill-A-Need program.

Fire Pal donations can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Fire Administration building located at 175 N 145th Ave., at the corner of Van Buren and 145th Ave. For information call 623-932-2300.
