Council finalists to be interviewed in public forum Monday
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (April 15, 2011) The City of Goodyear Council Subcommittee has selected three applicants for the unexpired two-year term remaining on the council seat vacated by former councilmember Frank Cavaliere.
With the resignation last month of councilmember Cavaliere, a vacancy was created on City Council. A subcommittee was appointed by Council to review applications and interview. There were seven applicants, all of whom were interviewed on April 14 and 15.
Three applicants were invited by the Subcommittee to participate in a public forum at a Special Council meeting on April 18, at which an appointment will be made. The public forum will take place during a Special Meeting of the Goodyear City Council at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18, at the Goodyear Justice Center, 185 N. 145th Avenue (In the Courts building of the Venida Complex on the southeast corner of 145th Avenue and Van Buren Street, in Goodyear, Ariz.
The meeting is open to the public. Council may vote to go into Executive Session, which is not open to the public, to discuss certain matters, pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.03(A).
The applicants to be interviewed Monday during the Public Forum are:

· Gary Gelzer
· Robert Williams
