Food drive donations accepted at City Hall

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (May 2, 2011)  The 6th annual food drive sponsored by the West Valley View is supported by the City of Goodyear and dozens of local retailers and organizations.

Canned goods, breads, pastries, fruits, vegetables and non-perishable foods can be dropped off at Goodyear City Hall Lobby at 190 N. Litchfield Road through the end of May. Check the West Valley View for other locations.

High protein foods like canned tuna and meat, peanut butter, cereal and powdered milk are especially needed this year.

The food will help restock pantry shelves at local food banks. Although the holiday season is long past, the need is greater than ever and every contribution makes a difference.

Last year, a total of 4,670 pounds of food was collected from all the locations, including Goodyear City Hall. Four food banks will share in the bounty: The Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank, Buckeye Food Bank, Tolleson Food Bank, and a new location for All Faith Community Services Goodyear at the Open Arms Center at 918 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear.
