Goodyear pool closed after contamination
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (June 21, 2011) The Goodyear Swimming Pool was closed today around 3 p.m. after an incident involving diarrhea caused the safety of the water to be compromised. The Emergency Action Plan was activated immediately, the pool and surrounding area was evacuated, and the process of "shocking" the water with a super-chlorine treatment began. The pool will remain closed until tests show that the water is safe, clean, and the problem has been resolved. The pool is expected to reopen Thursday, when activities and hours of operations will resume as usual.
