Online survey asks residents what's most important in choosing the new police chief

GOODYEAR, ARIZ.  (August 1, 2011) The city of Goodyear is looking for a new chief of police, and would like to know what residents believe are the most important things to consider in choosing this public safety leader.

Goodyear residents are invited to complete a short, five-question online survey.  The goal of the survey is to gather input from community members which will be shared with the consulting team that is spearheading the search for Goodyear's new police chief.

The Mercer Group, Inc., one of the nation's leading management consulting firms, was recently hired by Goodyear to handle the recruitment and candidate selections for the new police chief. The process will take place over the next several months and involve many community stakeholders.

By end of this week, Mercer will have met with representatives from neighborhoods, local businesses, law enforcement, human services providers, elected officials, city staff, members of the faith-based community, and others.  Mercer also plans to reach out to local school officials.

This is the time for Goodyear residents to share their thoughts and tell the city what's most important, in their eyes, in choosing the new police chief. Citizens are invited to take a few moments and complete the online survey.

Go to the City's website at www.goodyearaz.gov and follow the links to complete the survey. It's fast. It's easy. It's important.
