GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (Nov. 10, 2011) Goodyear residents will have a chance to talk with finalists for the position of Goodyear Police Chief, Bill Cusson, Jerry Geier and Eric Hailey at the Goodyear Justice Center later this month.

The city is set to host a meet-and-greet with the three finalists for the open Goodyear police chief position at 5:30 p.m., Tues. Nov. 29 at the Goodyear Justice Center, 185 N. 145th Avenue (southeast corner of 145th Avenue and Van Buren Street), Goodyear, 85338. The meeting video will be streamed live to the web, and can be viewed in real-time online at, click "Meetings and Agendas" from the city's home page.

The search is being led by an executive team from the Mercer Group, Inc.  As a result of the nationwide search efforts, the city received approximately 110 responses from prospective candidates for the Chief of Police position. The position drew interest from candidates all over the United States, and many of the applicants are from western states.

The finalists are all exceptionally strong prospects.  Bill Cusson is currently the interim chief of police for the city of Goodyear; Jerry Geier is the current chief of police for the city of Yuma; and Eric Hailey is a commander for the Phoenix Police Department.

Goodyear expects to have a new chief of police join the city in January.
