Suntech Offers Green Jobs Fair Aug. 14
GOODYEAR, ARIZ. (Aug. 13, 2010) Suntech, of Wuxi, China and the world's largest manufacturer of photovoltaic solar modules, is currently hiring for its first North American plant, here in Goodyear in the Goodyear One building on Cotton Lane. One of the company's first administrative hires was a Goodyear resident who is currently in China for training.
The company hopes to hire more Goodyear residents for the 120,000-square-foot facility at which large-sized solar modules for electricity-generating solar farms will be built. A total of about 75 workers are expected to be hired in year one, ramping up to 150 employees in the future.
The company will be holding a JOB FAIR on Sat., Aug. 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Skyway Church, 14900 W. Van Buren St. to hire about 20 employees for its initial phase of production, scheduled to begin this October.
The jobs they will be hiring for at the fair are: 15 assemblers/operators, two warehouse forklift operators, an engineering supervisor, a planner/scheduler, and a machine maintenance supervisor.

Suntech is the first company to take advantage of Arizona's HB 1403 which provided tax incentives to establish a new solar industry in the state.
