7.B. (10-4339) Council approved a request from Randy Guse, representing Walgreen Arizona Drug Co., for a new Series 10 Liquor License, #10075903, for Walgreens #02243, located at 387 N. Estrella Parkway, Goodyear, AZ. (Northeast Corner of Van Buren and Estrella Parkway)
7.C. (09-4278) Council adopted Ordinance 10-1206 amending Chapter 3, Article 3-9 (Percent for Art Program) of the Goodyear City Code by removing text from Subsection 3-9-3 (a) and adding Subsection 3-9-3 (h) to give the Goodyear Arts and Culture Commission authority to select artists and approve art concepts for public art projects; provide for severability and an effective date.
7.D. (10-4350) Council adopted Resolution 10-1359 approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management and the City of Goodyear as a cooperating agency for the Sonoran Solar Energy Project Environmental Impact Statement; authorizing the City Manager to execute the Memorandum of Understanding; and providing for an effective date.
7.E. (10-4346) Council authorized the City Manager to negotiate and execute a construction contract with the responsive and responsible low bidder to provide construction services for the 157th Avenue Water Reclamation Facility Phase IIB Expansion Project; Reclaimed Reservoir and Booster Facility.
7.F. (10-4352) Council adopted Ordinance 10-1209 amending provisions of Chapter 12 Article 12-3 of the Goodyear City Code by replacing Subsection 12-3-1(a)(1)(a) in its entirety; providing for severability and an effective date.
8.A. (10-4344) Council conducted a public hearing to consider an amendment to the Planned Area Development (PAD) zoning for Estrella Golf Village; and
Council postponed adoption of Ordinance 10-1207 for 30 days to allow the developer to meet with residents to discuss design standards.
8.B. (10-4351) Council adopted Resolution 10-1360 supporting continuation of law suit filed by Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to prevent the reopening of the Arizona Motorsports Park Racetrack; Urging Maricopa County Board of Supervisors not to enter into proposed settlement agreement with Arizona Motor Sports because it fails to adequately protect Goodyear residents from potential adverse impacts of operation of the racetrack; and urging Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to require that any settlement agreement with Arizona Motor Sports adequately protects the residents of Goodyear from the adverse impacts of the noise levels that will result from the operation of the racetrack.
